We are pleased to announce that Aurora Minerals Group jointly with Astana International Exchange (“AIX”, "Exchange”) became partners of PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) Convention and hosted «Kazakhstan Day» International Stage session. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year «Kazakhstan Day» was conducted virtually on the 10th of March within the World’s Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining forum PDAC 2021.
The speakers of «Kazakhstan Day» discussed the first results of the new Mining Code implementation, the gold potential of Kazakhstan and the shared success of introducing innovative technologies in mineral exploration.
Ruslan Baimishev, Vice Minister, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, said:
“With an implementation of the new Mining Code, which simplifies the process of obtaining the license for the exploration, there has been significant development of the junior movement in mineral exploration. New mining code fully corresponds to the best world practices, specifically the West Australian model. Within 2 years we issued almost 1200 new licenses.”
Tim Bennett, CEO of AIX, commented:
“We are focused on developing the junior mining market in Kazakhstan, with a dedicated market segment and building up an ecosystem of brokers and advisors to connect with different types of projects and investors. We are about to launch an investment web portal for foreign investors with an interest in Kazakhstan and for project owners to make sure they put their best foot forward in terms of attracting foreign capital.”
Mirek Benes, Executive Director, Kazzinc Exploration Kazakhstan said:
“Recently introduced reforms to the subsoil law significantly improved the investment climate for developing natural resources in Kazakhstan. To evolve from the initial “gold rush” and bridge over a 30 years gap in exploration, all stakeholders will need better understand reality and appreciate the value created through a long-term commitment and the best industry practice.”
Barry J. Davis, Founder and Managing Director, International Mining Services, mentioned:

PDAC Convention is the premier international event for the industry - that attracts over 30,000 people from 135 countries annually. This year, PDAC Convention is held online from 8’th to 11’th of March 2021.
