We are pleased to announce that on the 23rd of February The Embassy of Canada to Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Canada to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to Uzbekistan held a joint geological webinar entitled «The Junior Movement – Its Value for the Mining Sector».
The Canada – Central Asia session highlighted the importance of the Junior Mining sector and the Canadian experience, testimonials from Canadian junior mining companies and their opportunities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Participants learnt about doing business in Central Asia from Canada mining companies working in the region.
The webinar program included presentations from Senior Trade Commissioners of the Embassy of Canada to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russian Federation executives of The State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan, Aurora Minerals Group and Tau Ken Samruk and Qazgeology National Companies.
We should emphasize the role of junior movement in the world, as Canadian Expert Speaker, Gilles Couturier said “...Essentially, junior exploration companies punch above their weight. They are small but they produce. And many camps around the world have been discovered by junior companies who are not scared to take risks”.
World experience shows that junior companies play an important role in the exploration industry. It is important to note that over the past 10 years about 70% of the fields discovered in the world are run by junior companies. The expediency of creating small junior geological exploration companies has been discussed for several years in the geological community around the world. There is a growing conviction that such companies are very much needed for the search and entrepreneurial mining of precious metals and precious stones, as well as for the exploration of small deposits of ore and non-metallic materials in the regions.
The webinar was concluded by open questions. Experts from Canada, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have shared their essential experience and future perspectives.
