At Aurora Minerals Group, the occupational health and industrial safety management system is a key focus and priority of our activities. The health and safety of employees and contractors are crucial to the Company's development. Ensuring a systematic approach to work and achieving high production performance directly depends on staff and their sense of security in performing production tasks.
To prevent incidents at the facilities, the Company applies a special approach to occupational safety management, which is expressed in integration of international safety standards, local legislation requirements and norms of a safe work culture. In particular, the Company uses the following basic tools to create safe conditions: continuous training of employees, assessment of risks and hazards, elaboration of information and learning lessons, investigation of potentially dangerous incidents, application of step-by-step safety procedures, hazard analysis, work standardization, management of high-risk work, personal protective equipment, pre-start checks, application of checklists, environmental protection, etc.
The Company's work sites may be located in different regions of the country, and locations may be remote or in neighboring countries such as the Republic of Uzbekistan. This fact requires a special approach to creation of unified occupational safety management system that takes into account the conditions for ensuring an accident-free working environment. Therefore, the Company is actively developing this direction, starting from daily inspections and ending with audits by occupational safety and environmental specialists, based on the results of which conditions are analyzed and corrective actions are developed by the Company.
Currently, organizational structure of the Occupational, Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection Service consists of the head of service and two consultants on occupational safety, industrial safety and environmental protection with work experience in international companies. In addition, all personnel are actively involved in ensuring effective functioning of the security system at the facilities. Of particular note is the management and role of masters of drilling sites, site managers, geophysicists, geologists and managers of the Company, who are actively involved in creation of a safety system and have sufficient knowledge to ensure occupational safety.
Aurora Minerals Group pays special attention to constant updating of production machinery and equipping it with modern security systems. All drilling rigs, geophysical equipment and vehicles comply with international safety standards, and the Company continues to develop. It will continuously improve the occupational health and industrial safety management system at all facilities, regardless of region and country.
To date, all of the above elements of occupational health and safety management system and modern approaches have showed positive results, which are pretty obvious when visiting production sites. In addition, it gives the Company an additional incentive to take on even greater responsibility for quality of decisions made, to support concept of continuous process, improvement and ensuring the safety of employees. Safety is our top priority!
