The Aurora Minerals Group team is pleased to announce the resumption of the annual exploration field season in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Our company has started geophysical and drilling operations in western Kazakhstan.
Aurora AG Limited started the field season with the ground induced polarization (IP) electrical survey in Aktobe region. A new GDD Instrumentation (Canada) instrumental complex is used to perform this complex of works. Geophysical works are accompanied by high-precision satellite referencing using modern Trimble R12 surveying equipment.
As a result of the IP electrical survey, anomalies will be localized that have the greatest prospects for identifying commercially significant concentrations of target minerals in them.
In addition to the electrical exploration works, Aurora AG Limited started ground magnetic surveying in Aktobe region using modern, high-precision GSM-19W magnetometers on the Overhauser effect (GEM Systems, Canada). These works will significantly complement the existing understanding of the area's geological structure and will serve as a quality geophysical basis for further exploration works.
In addition to the geophysical work on April 15, 2021, Aurora Minerals Group and NovaDrilling mobilized a field team of geologists and a drilling crew with equipment consisting of two Boyles C-6 rigs mounted in a wheeled drilling building and five auxiliary equipment units to conduct core drilling and geological support work at Komsomol.
Core drilling and sampling will be carried out at locations identified based on previous exploration work to report on reserve estimates.
Drilling works are carried out by the following Certificates of Conformity:
- Certificate of conformity of the quality management system of ST RK ISO 9001-2009, as applied to works on drilling of wells for solid minerals;
- Certificate of conformity of the environmental management system of ST RK ISO 14001-2006, as applied to drilling works on solid minerals;
- Certificate of conformity of occupational safety and health management system of ST RK OHSAS 18001-2008, as applied to works on drilling wells for solid minerals.
Aurora AG Limited also continues geophysical support of drilling operations in the Aktobe region. The company carries out a full range of geophysical good surveys including inclinometer, gamma-ray logging, resistivity logging, induced polarization and magnetic susceptibility.
