In October 2022, the group of companies “Aurora Minerals Group” began geotechnical drilling with geological support in the amount of 10,010 meters for ERG Capital Projects LLP (Kazchrome TNC).
The aim of the project is to drill geotechnical holes from the earth's surface with full core orientation to collect geotechnical data and further research as part of the implementation of design work.
Drilling of holes is carried out by two drilling rigs, a three-column projectile with a removable core pipe and core orientation.
Drilling support (core documentation, sampling, etc.) is carried out in strict accordance with the terms of reference and internal AMG quality regulations.

According to the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, after drilling is completed, drilling sites are reclaimed.
Geological support and drilling control includes:
- drawing up and coordination with the Customer of geological and technical work order for drilling holes;
- control of drilling sites preparation;
- shift monitoring of drilling operations, maintaining consolidated data, providing daily reports to the Customer;
- control of the drilling depth, the process of extracting the core and storing it in boxes;
- marking of all natural and mechanical cracks before laying in core boxes;
- conducting geotechnical documentation for geological drill holes in accordance with the instructions for maintaining documentation and templates of Kazchrome TNC;
- drawing an orientation line for each batch in geotechnical drill holes;
- compiling and filling out electronic and paper geological/geotechnical logs for drilled and documented drill holes according to the templates of Kazchrome TNC;
- photographing each core box with a digital camera;
- selection of geological samples for ore intervals and near-contact zone, in accordance with QA / QC standards.
Highly qualified employees with experience in drilling and supporting oriented core are present at the work site. The team was provided with the necessary personal protective equipment for the cold climate.
The work is carried out in strict accordance with safety and labor protection in compliance with the Customer's standards, with the fulfillment of obligations in accordance with the lists of regulatory documents of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Subsoil and Subsoil Use", the Water Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
